Team 77 AMT Marine Racing has been competing in the Supercat Outboard class since 2019. The Driver is Andy Taylor, with Paul Fowlds on the throttles, and it is maintained by Wyld About Boats. It is a 30ft Shifty Cat built by Paul Gibbs, and runs two Mercury Optimax 3.2 litre stroker motors.

That’s all impressive enough on its own, and made even more so by the fact that Paul Fowlds has been winning races in Australia and New Zealand for 30 years. Whislt Andy Taylor may have only started in 2018, the pair have already notched up Championship wins in 2022 in both AUS1, and also Supercat Outboard.

Their favourite venue is Geelong, which is coming up on March 18 & 19, as “The course is long, has many twists and turns, and can be quite difficult to navigate. It also has a mixture of rough and smooth water, so you need the boat set up correctly.

They hope to take out the 2023 AUS1 title again, and also keen to race in both New Zealand and the USA one day. All of which is bound to make their sponsors AMT Marine Luxury Boat Brokerage, Gold Coast City Marina, and Daprix Marine very happy.
